Soybeans: Traits & Treatments

SOYBEAN Input Traits

Populations continue to grow. Farmland and the number of farmers continue to shrink. So every acre of land – including yours – needs to produce the highest yields possible.

Rupp Seeds helps you make that happen. We’re dedicated every day to evaluate, grow, test and select the highest-performing varieties for your farm. Our soybean varieties consistently place at or near the top in state and independent trials. More importantly, their performance routinely exceeds the expectations of farmers throughout the tri‑state area.

Whether you use a Roundup®, LibertyLink® or conventional program or a combination of the three, we have top performing soybean varieties that will fit the way you farm.

INPUT TRAITS

Roundup Ready 2 Xtend Soybeans logo.

Roundup Ready 2 Xtend® Soybeans contain the Genuity® Roundup Ready 2 Yield® trait technology stacked with a trait that contains tolerance to dicamba. This Genuity Roundup Ready 2 Yield trait technology offers farmers the highest yield opportunity with more beans per pod and more bushels per acre. Roundup Ready 2 Xtend™ soybeans, once approved, will be the industry’s first biotech product with tolerance to both glyphosate and dicamba herbicides.

Created with high-yielding elite genetics, LibertyLink® GT27™ soybeans give growers exceptional performance coupled with outstanding weed control. LibertyLink GT27 soybeans are the first soybean technology enabling both Liberty® and glyphosate use over the top.
LibertyLink GT27 is not tolerant to all HPPD herbicides. HPPD herbicides currently on the market are prohibited for use with LibertyLink GT27 soybeans and may result in significant crop injury.

Enlist E3 Soybeans help you maximize your yield potential by combining crop tolerance and exceptional broadleaf weed control. Enlist™ traits enable control against the toughest weeds in cotton, soybeans and corn. With multiple herbicide tolerances, you have more weed control options in one complete, easy-to-use system.

BENEFITS OF PURCHASING NEW SEED

In the competitive agriculture marketplace, reducing costs can be a key factor in earning a profit. However, the “advantages” of reducing seed costs by planting saved seed are not advantageous. Bin-run planting rates are generally 15% higher than new certified seed. Studies have shown that planting bin-run Roundup Ready® soybeans as opposed to planting new Genuity® Roundup Ready 2 Yield® soybean seed will reduce your yields, by 6.1 bushels per acre, and your income at harvest. By planting professionally produced seed from Rupp each year, you are guaranteed to be putting the highest quality seed into your fields.

Our production cycle begins with our team of growers planting the highest quality seed stock. Throughout the growing season our fields are inspected to ensure genetic purity, and additional care in handling is taken at harvest to reduce stress on the seed.

After harvest, the seed goes through a cleaning and sizing process to achieve uniformity and is treated with fungicides and insecticides to provide better stand and plant health. Finally, each seed lot is tested for germination and vigor to ensure optimum performance in your fields.

Our service isn’t limited to only providing high quality seed. Our seed professionals will help you select the right products and technology for your farm and farming practices, and will help you understand the warranty benefits offered by our technology partners, such as Roundup Ready Plus®, that help you manage risks in your crop production.

We’re there to help you for the full season, from planning to harvest. Our goal, along with our seed technology partners, is to help you achieve success. Through your investment in technology enhanced seed, research and development of new traits and higher yielding germplasm can continue to take place. When outstanding genetics are combined with superior processing and seed treatments, you will see consistent, high performance with our products in your fields.
