Crownvetch is a non-native perennial lequme with creeping stems 2 - 6 feet long with pink flowers. It develops a heavy, multi-branched creeping root system. Crownvetch is excellent for erosion control on steep banks, but it will choke out grasses. It should be planted with a nurse crop such as annual rye grass.
Crownvetch takes two years to establish completely. |
